Plazas at North Campus, Delhi University

Client: Delhi Development Authority
Date: 2003 - 2006
Area: 2.6 Hectares (6.4 Acres).

The North Campus of Delhi University is the student hub of the city. We were commissioned to design two plazas to provide social spaces for students outside the formal classroom setting.

University Plaza involved the pedestrianisation of the road between the Faculty of Arts and the Library building. Large parking lots were developed outside the area. Some of the finest public art sculptures by Dhruv Mistri were installed in this plaza.

Plaza Botanica was developed by rehabilitating an under-used park near the University Botanical Gardens.
